Stemming Tides

Sent adrift

for a casual run

a gradual release

as waves,

the foaming sea

ascends and descends.

The figure while afloat

with slow response,

curious and willing,

relies upon sea salt

to nourish a journey.

When tides change

the world arrives

rampant and assured

taking control

tossing, slapping, owning.

With every crest

clearly the doldrums

are a distant hope.

The shoreline beckons

when a reckoning

gives light to the dark

hallows of a storm in mind.

Glance and reach

willing to spend

a remaining day

caressing the soil

feeling solid ground.

I would love your commentary
